The Internet has revolutionalized every aspect of our lives; from the political, to educational, to economic, social and even religious. There is Bible sermons software available, that, when used online, also allow the listener to be able to download the latest version of the online sermon. Online forums also have various sermons, touching upon a variety of topics that any Christian, or a person from any faith will find useful. There are “spiritually focused” online discussion forums that further promote healthy religious practices and beliefs. While many of the online resources are similar to conventional CD- Roms, others have been designed specifically keeping online users in mind. The material is intended to enhance the networking of a group of Christians in particular, but many of its aspects also allow the incorporation of the global audience.
Good sermons online provide a listener a variety of opportunities. Their user-friendliness, accessibility and searchability make their use and availability increasingly popular. Users can access and download online sermons for different reasons: for some, it may prove difficult to obtain access to sermons for whatever reason, for others, the range and depth of material available allow them to gain knowledge, the extent of which would’ve otherwise been very difficult. For many users, the Web has transcended it’s novelty phase, and is now a natural source for everyday resources, such as for good online sermons.
Given that levels of access to the Internet have increased considerably during the past few years, pastors are approaching the Bible within the digital age with a more tech-savvy outlook. They have become aware that in many cultural and religious contexts, an online presence is essential and that a central focus should be online sermons. In most contexts, online representation of the Bible can impact the understanding of the religion itself; in Christian majority contexts, it can provide significant macro and micro channels of networking and understanding. An important question is the extent to which such connectivity is encouraged and enhanced through the development of commentaries and sermons online, and whether these have an impact on how Christians interpret their religion and perceive themselves as part of a global community.

Traditionally, good sermons are conducted in places of worship, with the Pastor behind a pulpit. However, nowadays, with the onslaught of technology, many churches have now begun to regularly put their sermons online in an attempt to reach out to the global community. Online sermons can be found on either a churches own site, or a site that collaboratively gathers all sermons together and have a virtual library of hundreds of sermons. Many pastors perform sermons online through live streaming, broadcasted to many people over the internet. Another method is for a Pastor to record a video of himself delivering a sermon, and post it onto a website, where people can view it at any time they find convenient.
This is more convenient for people as they can pick and choose the sermon they want to listen to, rather than hear a live sermon which they have no interest in. This helps improve their understanding of the bible. It also helps people catch up on a particular sermon that they missed in church due to an engagement.
If you want to deliver a good sermon in real-time, with live streaming, it is up to you whether you want to have a question-and-answer sermon or preach without any pauses. Generally, people aren’t comfortable asking questions, but for the ones that are, it can clear up any confusion, and can make your sermon a better one.
It is important to remember a few ground rules, including using a microphone or a good quality, and to record directly to a CD-ROM or digital device and to make it mono, as 99% of users record from a single point mic in mono, thereby making the use of stereo files useless. Compressing sermons is highly recommended. While this reduces the sound quality of your sermons, it reduces the file-size as well, making it easier for people to download the online sermon and listen to it. Editing is also recommended, removing parts where there is silence, or parts with no audio (such as places where a virtual slide show was being shown). Copyright laws should also be taken care of, and no materials should be posted on the churches website without the necessary licenses.

Many of the elements of Christian religious life can be “observed” online. Multimedia programs demonstrate Bible sermons, and offer video clips of pastors in church. Bible sermons are now commonly available online with different resources that can be integrated into a single web site, they offer the essential components of a Christian religious experience, in some ways mirroring offline religion. Christian religious life is also represented online through web sites offering resources for religious festivals, material pertaining to specific cultural, religious, political and/or linguistic interests.
Religious portals can stimulate networking and affiliation through the provision of regularly updated resources, which encourage frequent return visits by users. Information can range from basic materials, such as the Bible, through to news provision and areas of specialist knowledge. There are techniques through which portals may project themselves as central information resources on Christianity. In order to enhance their position in the cyber-marketplace, those with appropriate financial, and technical resources can apply wide-ranging communication management strategies and utilize specific forms of religious symbolism and language.
Some of the most popular online Bible sermon websites have their visual imagination catered to the promotion of easily accessible material, instead of the dense, text-based equivalent of printed publication. However since other material have become subscription only, on another level the same accessibility becomes limited. There are many elements of a Bible sermon portal that are not subscription based, however, including audio sermons, sermon time-tables in the nearest congregation, and other similar facilities. The possibility exists that neutral users who would be unlikely to seek out and purchase a sermon DVD may casually stumble upon a site that provides online sermons.
